About MacGPTMacGPT lets you access and use ChatGPT right from your Mac’s menubar or anywhere on your screen. With its Global feature, you can open a text box anytime to chat with ChatGPT without switching apps. The Inline mode lets you trigger ChatGPT responses directly inside text fields by typing a special phrase.
Quick access from the menubar means ChatGPT is always just a click away, and you can also open the official ChatGPT website via a native app without extra cost. It’s easy to copy and save your conversation transcripts for later.
MacGPT supports voice conversations, so you can talk to ChatGPT without typing. It works with ChatGPT Plus accounts for advanced features and also supports using your own OpenAI API key for faster responses (note: using API keys requires a linked credit card).
This tool runs on macOS Monterey and Ventura, leveraging the latest system features. Some Inline functions might not work in all apps, but improvements are ongoing. Since MacGPT connects directly to OpenAI servers, it doesn’t bypass proxy blocks.
Developed by Good Snooze, MacGPT is also available as GeePeeTee on iPhone, making it easy and free to chat with ChatGPT on the go—using either typing or voice.
